TPOD Regulations
Adopted at the 6th Joint Meeting of the 3rd Board of Directors and Board of Supervisors on October 20, 2021.

Article 1 These Regulations are adopted pursuant to Article 15 of the Charter of the Taiwan Professional Development Association for Higher Education Teaching (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”) to govern the communication elections of directors and supervisors of the Association (hereinafter referred to as “these Regulations”).

Article 2 The communication elections for directors and supervisors of the Association may be conducted jointly.

Article 3 The ballot for the communication elections of directors and supervisors of the Association shall be prepared in the format prescribed by the Regulations on the Election and Recall of Members of Civil Associations.
Candidates listed in the reference roster shall be printed on the ballot for voters to mark. Blank spaces equal to the number of positions to be elected shall also be provided for voters to write in names of other candidates. -
Article 4 Each communication election ballot for directors and supervisors of the Association shall clearly indicate the name of the Association, the election term, the title of the position being elected, and the deadline for returning the ballot.
The ballots shall be printed by the Association, bearing the official seal of the Association and the seal of the executive supervisor, to be deemed valid. -
Article 5 The communication election ballots for directors and supervisors, together with return envelopes and the complete list of members eligible to vote, shall be sent by registered mail to all eligible members one (1) month prior to the scheduled vote counting date. No eligible voter may be omitted, and the process shall be supervised by the Board of Supervisors.
Undeliverable ballots shall be reported at the time of vote counting and recorded accordingly. -
Article 6 After marking the communication election ballot for directors and supervisors, the voter shall seal the ballot individually in the provided return envelope and return it by registered mail.
Ballots received shall be immediately deposited into the ballot box and shall only be opened at the vote counting session.
Any ballot not returned by registered mail, returned after the voting deadline (as evidenced by the postmark), or received after the announcement of election results shall be deemed invalid. -
Article 7 Communication elections for directors and supervisors of the Association shall be conducted by anonymous cumulative voting.
No more than nine (9) candidates may be selected for directors, and no more than three (3) candidates may be selected for supervisors. -
Article 8 Vote counting for the communication elections of directors and supervisors shall be conducted during a meeting of the Board of Directors, under the supervision of personnel appointed by the Board of Supervisors.
The election results shall be provided in writing to all members and shall be reported at the next General Assembly or publicly announced on the Association’s official website. -
Article 9 These Regulations shall be implemented upon approval by resolution of the Board of Directors and recordation by the competent authority. The same procedure shall apply to any amendments hereto.
